Description
Meadow Stitch is a one-of-a-kind handmade paper pocket journal, handcrafted from recycled paper fibres in the Wild Root Studio in Gqeberha, South Africa.
Each page begins as recycled paper, transformed back into pulp and pulled by hand, one sheet at a time. Unlike delicate handmade papers, these pages have a satisfying weight and strength, making this small journal lovely to write, sketch, doodle, and create in.
The Meadow Stitch journal is hand-bound using Coptic binding, allowing it to open flat while celebrating the exposed stitching along the spine. Each journal is assembled from individually made sheets, so no two Wild Root Studio journals are ever the same.
Details
• Approx. 9 × 11 cm
• 32 handmade pages
• 4 signatures with varied colours
• Hand-bound with Coptic stitch
• Thick, tactile handmade paper with natural deckled edges
• One-of-a-kind original
Perfect as a pocket journal, art journal, travel companion, memory book, tiny sketchbook or thoughtful handmade gift for lovers of handmade paper and slow-crafted objects.
Because every sheet is handmade from recycled fibres, natural variations, tiny inclusions and irregular deckle edges are part of each journal’s unique character.
The Meadow Stitch is finished with my signature Wild Root Bloom — a handmade ombré seed-paper medallion embedded with African daisy seeds. Inspired by flower petals, it’s a small reminder that beautiful things can begin with something as simple as recycled paper.
Made slowly. Made by hand. Never repeated.
