Daybreak is a one-of-a-kind handmade paper journal, handcrafted from recycled paper fibres in the Wild Root Studio in Gqeberha, South Africa.

Each page begins as recycled paper, transformed back into pulp and pulled by hand, one sheet at a time. The resulting paper has a satisfying weight and strength, making this little journal ideal for writing, sketching, doodling and creative notes.

Daybreak is hand-bound using Coptic binding, a traditional bookbinding technique that allows the journal to open flat while leaving the stitching beautifully exposed along the spine. With individually made paper, varied colours and natural deckled edges, every Wild Root Studio journal has its own character.

Daybreak is finished with my signature Wild Root Bloom — a handmade ombré seed-paper medallion embedded with African daisy seeds. Inspired by flower petals, it is a small reminder that beautiful things can begin with something as simple as recycled paper.
